IMPORTANT NOTICE: At the October 27, 2020 meeting, the Select Board unanimously voted to require mandatory mask usage at the Transfer Station with the following motion: “to require masks effective immediately at the dumping stations at the transfer station, and that signage posted immediately indicating that requirement”. Please be aware that this requirement is in effect for all areas of the transfer station. If you have any questions, please contact Paul Allard at (603)942-5586 ext 2013.

Public Notice: There will be a collection for hazardous waste on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at the Turnkey Landfill in Rochester, NH. Please CLICK THIS LINK for a more details.

General Information

Recycling is mandatory in the Town of Northwood. 

Recycling not only keeps unnecessary waste out of landfills, it saves tax dollars. The Northwood Board of Selectmen is advised on waste management and recycling issues by the TSAC Committee.

The Recycling/Transfer Station is 1/2 mile east of the Town Hall on the south side of First NH Turnpike (Route 4).

Swap Shop Information

The purpose of the Swap Shop is to stop putting things in the waste that others can use.  It is for residents only.  Items must be clean, usable, and in good working order.  Items must be presented to attendant for inspection.  After inspection, resident may place items in building.  Items are free to other residents.  Items are taken at no guarantee of ability to function as expected.  The Town assumes no responsibility for any result for use of said items.  If item is not picked up by another resident, it will be disposed of at the attendants discretion.

All items with a disposal fee must be paid for before being placed in swap shop.
