Northwood, a bucolic town in southeastern New Hampshire, was founded in 1773 when its first settlers successfully petitioned the Governor's Council requesting separation from Nottingham. Since this section of Nottingham had been known as the great north woods, the newly formed town was called Northwood.
Northwood Town Offices are open from 9:00am to 4:00pm Monday thru Thursday.
See Town Clerk/Tax Collector page for hours.
We are a group of Northwood citizens and 501(c)3 raising money to provide a playground at the Route 4 Athletic fields for all in our community to enjoy.
Many of us are members of the Northwood Recreation Commission, but Friends of Northwood Recreation is a separate group of Northwood residents. We are solely dedicated to raising money to plan and install a public playground in Northwood.
As of Spring 2019 we have raised almost $14,000 toward the town playground. If you'd like to keep up with our fundraisers or contribute to the cause, please follow us on our Facebook page
