The Town uses this information to identify site performance needs; to ensure compatibility with the technology used by Town of Northwood web site visitors, and to generally add and improve services offered on Town of Northwood web site. The Town of Northwood will update this policy as new services and features are added. Any information collected under the current policy will remain subject to these terms. Information collected after any changes take effect will be subject to the revised privacy policy.

Content Policy

The sole and limited purpose of the Town of Northwood's web site is to provide factual information about the Town of Northwood government's activities and services. Only the Town of Northwood's municipal government offices, departments, agencies, and governing bodies are eligible to submit content for posting on the Town web site. Content submitted for posting on the Town web site must meet the following requirements:

  1. Submitted content must be related to the operation and/or activities of the Town government, departments, municipal services, boards, commissions, and committees.
  2. Submitted content must be factual, informative, and accurate.
  3. Submitted content may not contain derogatory or profane language.
  4. No commercial or advertisement content will be accepted.
  5. No content espousing a political, religious, or philosophical agenda will be accepted.
  6. Hyperlinks in submitted content may only be to Federal, State, County, or  other local government web sites; the external web sites referenced by hyperlink must not violate points two (2) through five (5) of this list of requirements.

The Board of Selectmen retain editorial control of the web site. The Board of Selectmen may delegate the responsibility of posting submitted content to the web site by appointing (a) site publisher(s). The appointed web site publisher(s) will use the above rules for determining the appropriateness of submitted content for posting. In the event of a submission of content that is not directly in violation of the above rules and yet, in the opinion of the appointed publisher(s) may violate the intent of the Content Policy, the submitted content will not be published. The content submitter shall have the option of appealing the decision of the appointed publisher(s) directly to the Board of Selectmen.
