The Town of Northwood is soliciting bid proposals to purchase a 1997 Rescue/Ambulance GVW is 20,000lbs. The chassis is International Lo-pro 4700 DT 466E 6-cylinder Turbo Diesel with an Allison 4 speed automatic transmission. The vehicle starts, runs, drives, shifts, and stops great. It has lots of power and there is no smoke. Actual milage on the truck is 63,000 miles and 3093 hours. The frame is in good shape with only some surface rust in a few places. On spot chains are in working order.
The vehicle comes factory equipped with an Ambulance Prep-package, which includes an extra-large radiator, oil and transmission coolers, high output alternator and frame reinforcement. The truck was originally an ambulance, the oxygen and suction have been disabled but could be re-activated for use as an ambulance. The on-board inverter is still in working order. The air ride suspension was removed, and traditional suspension installed in the rear. The ambulance bumper was also removed. The paint is in good shape and will still take a nice shine. New Batteries were installed in 2018. Glass is all intact.
The unit is in excellent shape for its age and milage. Option include pass through door in the front, power windows, tilt wheel, AM/FM stereo, and air ride seat
The box was manufactured by Excellence Ambulance Inc. The box dimensions are 14’ 4” long, 8’wide and 6’ inside height. The interior is nice and clean with no rips, tears, or smells. It does have some exterior dings, dents, and scratches associated with normal wear and tear. There is some corrosion around the hinges and latches but not sever enough to impact function.
This truck began its life as our primary ambulance and later as a light rescue truck for the department, most recently it was stored at the police department awaiting conversion to a command truck that never came to fruition.
The truck can be view by appointment Monday through Friday at the Northwood Narrows Fire Station 85 Main Street Northwood NH. Contact Chief Mark Tetreault at:
