The Town of Northwood NH is accepting applications for an immediate opening of a full-time Fire Chief position.
This position performs highly responsible administrative and supervisory work in planning, organizing, coordinating, and directing the Fire Department in conjunction with New Hampshire Revised Statutes Annotated Chapter 154. This shall include fire prevention, suppression, and emergency medical services to prevent or minimize the loss of life and property by fire and emergency medical conditions. The work week is 40 hour, Monday through Friday, schedule with 8-hour shifts. Response to fire and some evening meetings will be required.
The successful candidate should have at the time of hire:
Associates Degree in Fire Science, Public Administration or directly related field. Bachelor’s Degree is preferred. Ten years of experience in the fire and ems field of which at least three years in a supervisory role. NHFST Certified Firefighter II; NHFST Certified Fire Officer II; Incident Command Certified; Must possess a valid New Hampshire Driver’s License of sufficient grade to lawfully operate/drive fire & emergency vehicles including any airbrake and tank endorsements required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
This full-time exempt position has a salary range of $47,605 to $72,007 annually depending on qualifications and experience. Northwood offers a full benefits package including health and dental insurance and NH Group II retirement.
Residency or nearby residency preferred.
