Starting Saturday, November 15th:
As we have watched the price of gasoline go down, most of us probably didn’t notice the price of recyclables going down as well. But they have and to save the town money, we will need to make some changes quickly. Please click on "Read more..." below to continue reading.
Right now no vendor will pay us for our plastics and they are charging us for the hauling. Until this current financial situation plays itself out and recyclables have a price on the market again, we are making the following changes: - All your plastics (#1-#7) without the caps will go into the compacter on the LEFT.
- Your household (wet waste) will go into the compacter on the RIGHT.
- Clean tin will go back into bin #2.
- Glass will go back to the glass pit.
The Recycling Committee is exploring all options to keep our town recycling plastics, tin, and glass, and is trying to keep the cost to a minimum. We’d like to thank you for your quick response in changing the way you recycled plastics. The response was great and we hope to get back to the one stop method very soon. We thank you for your patience and understanding. |
