Elizabeth Longfellow of Northwood, author of Creative Non-Fiction, will read from some of her material at the Chesley Memorial Library in Northwood on Tuesday, October 21, at 7:00 pm.  Longfellow is a 2008 recipient of a Fellowship Finalist Award from The New Hampshire State Council on the Arts. The award provides a $2500 stipend allowing the winning artist to "buy myself some time to write" in Longfellow’s words.  It is also, certainly, a validation of her previous writing.  The reading, which she calls a Report to the Community, is Longfellow’s way to say thank you to residents whose tax dollars go in part to support New Hampshire artists and the arts.  The event is free and everyone is welcome to attend.  It is an excellent opportunity to hear a special presentation, by an award-winning author, which is tailored to a local audience.
