Minutes of June 3, 2008

Present were members Lucy Edwards, Pat Adams and Donna Bunker and Selectmen liaison Ken Curley. Cable coordinator Gary Garnett was also in attendance.

Meeting was called to order at 6:05 pm.
The minutes of the 5/06/08 meeting were approved.

LRPA – At the last LRPA Board of Directors meeting Ken Curley said a draft promotional fee schedule was discussed.  A policy regarding rejoining fees for member towns that have dropped out of LRPA was also discussed and voted on.

Board of Selectmen Liaison Report – Ken Curley said no issues regarding Northwood cable subscribers came before the Board of Selectmen.

Cable Coordinator Report – Gary Garnett
Training – It is now planned to hold training sessions with for the Northwood School Director of Technology, Steve Robert before each scheduled School Board meeting. It will be more effective than training during the meeting.

Installation of Equipment (Town Hall) - The new cabinet is in town hall and Gary has begun customizing the shelves and installing the lock.

CBNA – Gary received an email from Mr. Jarvis, the teacher who runs the video club at Coe Brown.  Gary wants to set up a meeting with both Mr. Jarvis and either Assistant Headmaster Paul Davis or Bob Young, Head of the Science Dept. to coordinate the taping of school events.

Video Workshop – The scheduled video workshop was cancelled. Donna Bunker stated no one had signed up for the workshop. She would like to reschedule it to a Saturday during the summer, possibly July. She will bring a list of the Saturdays the Library is available to the next meeting.

Upcoming Events to tape -
Gary Garnett said he was asked if he would be able to tape and air the Northwood School 8th grade graduation. The Committee thought it was a good idea. Chairwoman Edwards instructed Gary to get permission from the School Administration to tape the event. It is being held at Northwood School on Thursday June 26, 6:00 PM
 
Lucy Edwards stated the first Northwood Farmer’s Market is scheduled to be held at the parking lot across from the Chesley Library on Thursday July 3rd at 3pm. The committee agreed that it would be a good local event to tape.

Donna Bunker said that the Northwood/Nottingham evening book group is having author of the advice column mysteries, Dr. Roberta Isleib, join their next discussion night. Donna asked for her permission to tape it and she consented. It is being held at the Blaisdell Memorial Library in Nottingham on Wednesday June 25th at 7pm. The committee agreed that it would be a good event to tape and thanked Donna for setting it up.
Video News Show – Ms. Edwards said she had talked with Becky Rule and that they were having problems with the production of the show. Gary agreed to contact Becky and John Rule to see if he could help.

The next scheduled meeting is on Tuesday July 1st at 6 pm at the Town Hall.
