Young Adult author, Susan Colebank, will be visiting the Chesley Memorial Library on Tuesday, November 13, at 4:00 – 5:00pm to speak with teens about writing, her new book, and becoming a published author. Susan’s new book, Black Tuesday, was published in June of 2007, and is the story of 16-year-old Jayne Thompkins, and how her life is changed in a single instant. Black Tuesday by Susan Colebank Everything is going just the way superachiever Jayne Thompkins planned. She’s at the top of her class and captain of the girls’ varsity tennis team. Her ultimate goal? Harvard. She wouldn’t be killing herself with all these extracurriculars otherwise. But her life changes when she crashes into another car—and a little girl dies as a result. Will she ever be able to live with the guilt she feels over this accidental death? A gripping and fastpaced story about guilt, anger, forgiveness, and second chances by firsttime author Susan Colebank. |
