Check out the new recreation programs!!!

*Attention Seniors:

The Potluck Luncheons are now the FIRST Wednesday of each month at 11:30am at New Hope Church across from the Mobil Station. The next luncheon will be Wednesday, February 7, 2007. Please R.S.V.P. to Mandy at 942-5586 ext. 209.

*Senior Trips:

There are weekly shopping trips to Concord, which meet at the Meadow on Bow St. around 8:45am and cost $3 for the bus. This takes place every Thursday with the exception for the 3rd Thursday of each month, which is a special. On February 15, there will be a trip to the Tilton Outlets in Tilton, NH. The bus cost is $5.00 and will meet at the Meadow on Bow St. around 8:45am. There are a couple choices for lunch.

*TAI-CHI class:

Every Wednesday starting February 7, 2007 (02/07, 02/14, 02/21, 02/28, 03/07, and 03/14 - Mark your calendars!) from 4:00-4:45pm at the Meadow on Bow St. (in the community room). This program is open to all ages. The cost is $30.00 for the six week program (No drop-ins please!)

New England Flower Trip: Thursday, March 22nd join Deerfield Parks & Rec and Northwood Rec! The bus will be picking up Northwood residents up at the Meadow on Bow St. at 8:00am sharp and we plan to return around 5:00pm. The cost is $35.00 per person which includes bus fair and the ticket to the show. There will be lunch option available at the show at your expense. To sign up, please send your name and contact info, along with a check made out to Northwood Recreation 818 First NH Turnpike Northwood, NH 03261.

*Winter Carnival:

Come join the Lions Club and Northwood Recreation at the ice races on Saturday, February 17, 2007. Northwood Rec. will be having snowshoe races, snow sculpture contest, a chower cook-off, and much more! Activities start around 9:30am and the ice races start at noon. There is a $10 donation/car to be a spectator or race. All proceeds will benefit Lions Camp Pride, which is a camp for children with special needs in New Durham. Come have fun and donate to a great cause! If you'd like to participate in the chowder cook-off, please contact Mandy at 942-5586 ext 209.

*February Vacation: Northwood Rec. is offering field trips during Feb. vacation which are open to all students - elementary to high school! The following is a list of the days and trips, but for flyers and registration forms, please come to the town hall. They will be sent home with the elementary students. For more details and costs, please call Mandy at 942-5586 ext. 209.

Monday, Feb. 19 -  Tubing at Wagon Hill Farm in Durham, NH

Tuesday, Feb. 20 - Bowl-O-Rama in Portsmouth and Roller Skate Newington

Wednesday, Feb. 21 - Christa McAuliffe Planetarium & Ice Skating at Everett Arena

Thursday, Feb. 22 - Children's Museum in Portsmouth & lunch at McDonald's

Friday, February 23 - Amoskeag Fishways & Yanni's Pizzaria

*Knit Happens meets every Tuesday at the Chesley Memorial Library from 2-4pm and every Sunday at the Northwood Congregational Church from 2-4pm.
