The Chesley Memorial Library staff and trustees would like to thank library patrons for their patience last year as we worked to resolve all of the issues that caused our entire downstairs to close for so long.
Ongoing water problems outside the building caused problems inside the building and to complicate matters, a pipe burst and flooded the entire basement on October 19. There were many unscheduled interruptions in library service and the entire downstairs – including the children’s room and the meeting room – remained closed until December 27. The outside problems all needed repair before the inside repairs could begin and the entire process took much longer than anticipated. We are so pleased to have the downstairs open again with a fresh new look and we are enjoying the excitement on our younger patrons faces as they head down the stairs to their special area! |
