Minutes of August 8, 2005

Present: Pat Adams, Donna Bunker, Ken Curley, Lucy Edwards
 
The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m.   The July 21, 2005, minutes were reviewed and approved.
 
Old Business:  Ken Curley will check into the status of the PEG grant at the September Lakes Region Public Access meeting.
 
Ken Curley informed the committee that Maura at Metrocast responded to the complaint received from Tom and Ginger Dole regarding interruptions with Metrocast’s internet access.
 
New Business:  Donna Bunker received a request to drop off signed original final copies of cable advisory committee minutes to the town clerk.   Donna will check to see if final copies still need to be sent to Jessi Leavitt via email.
 
Lucy Edwards informed the committee that the town has begun the process to hire Gary Garnett as cable coordinator.   Mr. Garnett will be informed of the cable advisory committee meeting dates as soon as he is hired.
 
The committee outlined the following goals to pursue once the new cable coordinator is hired: 1) Have new cable coordinator tour LRPA studio 2) attend school board meeting to find out what is needed to tape meetings and develop plan 3) organize sound system in town hall 4) tape local events.
 
The committee discussed possible locations for a studio.
 
Ken Curley will meet with recreation director Kevin Murphy to discuss involving recreation and Teen  Center volunteers with the cable advisory committee.
 
Ken Curley will develop a six-year Capital Improvement Plan and will email it to cable advisory committee members before submitting it to the Planning Board.
 
The next meeting will be held at the Chesley Memorial Library on Thursday, September 15, at 6:30 p.m.
 
The meeting adjourned at 7:35 p.m.
