The Chesley Memorial Library will host a book signing for "Our Written Voices" on Saturday, May 15, at 2:00 p.m.  Susan R. Edgerton created “The Written Voice” on CafeMom in May of 2008.  "The Written Voice" is a featured writing group on the popular website for mothers, CafeMom, www.cafemom.com.  Established in May of 2008, "The Written Voice" welcomed writers and readers alike and is comprised of passionate, talented, and supportive women.

In late September of 2009, it was decided to publish a book of the group members' original works (poems and short stories).  During this time, the members all worked diligently to polish their work and get it ready for publication.  They decided that donating the proceeds from the sale of their book to a charity would be a wonderful idea so they nominated different charities, giving reasons why the charity they chose would be best suited. They derived a poll and everyone voted.  The non-profit organization entered by Paula G. Rockwell, David’s House, received the most votes, and thus became their chosen charity.  Much the same way the charity was chosen, (by nominations and voting) the name “Our Written Voices” became the title of their book.

Paula G. Rockwell will be representing the group as a co-author at the book signing.

A representative from David’s House (located in Lebanon, New Hampshire) will also be at the book signing as a promotion for families in the area that may one day need their services.  The person representing David’s House is Jaye Olmstead, who works specifically with fundraising events.  The profits obtained from the sale of "Our Written Voices" will be used to support David’s House, a non-profit organization that helps house families with critically ill patients in the hospital.  They are thankful that the library is very involved with the community and always helps to promote local authors.
