TOWN OF NORTHWOOD
Public Hearings Notice
Community Development Block Grant Project

The Northwood Selectmen will hold 3 consecutive Public Hearings on Tuesday, December 8, 2009 beginning at 6:00 P.M. at the Town Hall, 818 First NH Turnpike  Northwood, New Hampshire.  Community Development Block Grant funds are available to municipalities through the NH Community Development Finance Authority. Up to $500,000 annually is available on a competitive basis for economic development, public facility and housing projects and emergency activities that directly benefit low and moderate income persons. Up to $12,000 is available for feasibility study grants. The purpose of the hearings are public comment on the following:

1. A proposed emergency application to the Community Development Finance Authority for up to $350,000 in Community Development Block Grant funds.  The funds will finance electrical improvements & 2 failed septic systems at the Loon Estates Cooperative located off of Lake Shore Drive, Northwood, NH - Esther Lane. The park is primarily occupied by low and moderate income households.

2. The Housing and Community Development Plan.

3. And the Residential Antidisplacement and Relocation Assistance Plan.

Provisions for persons with special needs can be made by contacting the Selectmen’s Office via telephone (942-5586) or mail, at least five days prior to the public hearing.
