Minutes of April 7, 2009

Meeting was called to order at 6:05 pm by Chairperson Lucy Edwards.

Present were Lucy Edwards, Ken Curley, Renee Camille, Ken Camille and Gary Garnett Donna Bunker arrived at 6:15pm. Pat Adams was excused.

The minutes of the 03/03/09 meeting were approved as corrected.

REPORTS
LRPA – Mr. Curley said he attended the March 30th LRPA meeting. The budget was discussed along with ways of raising funds through different sponsorship levels. Director of the Hout Technical Center and LRPA Board member Scott Davis, gave a presentation about relocating studio control room equipment to provide more classroom and storage space. The Board will discuss the plans at their next meeting.

Board of Selectmen liaison – no Selectman was present.

Cable Coordinator Report

School District Meeting – Mr. Garnett reported on the PA system setup required before the meeting to get good quality audio for the taping.

CBNA events – Gary has contacted Headmaster Smith and talked to him about coordinating future tapings of school events.

Town Meeting DVD problem – During the airing of the Northwood Town Meeting on Metrocast cable channel 26, the video froze on one frame for over an hour.  Mr. Garnett reported that this was caused by using a particular brand of DVD  (HP) . He had burned a non HP DVD of the Town Meeting and sent it to LRPA to air.

Digital Audio Recorder – Mr. Garnett said he gave lessons on the use of the Digital Audio Recorder to Town Hall Secretary Lisa Fellows-Weaver. He also stepped through using the software to help transcribe meeting minutes.

Northwood History – Mr. Garnett said he would like to get Ken and Renee Camille involved with Northwood History project he has started. They will be going over the videos he has already taped and see what can be added.

Video Workshop – The advertisements have gone out for the video workshop being held from 6 to 8 pm. on Tuesday April 21st   at the Chesley Memorial Library.  Mr. Curley said he would like to attend. Mrs. Bunker said she will inform the Recreation Committee Director.

OLD BUSINESS

Cable Contract renewal subcommittee – The recommendation to form the committee will be discussed at our next meeting.
 
NEW BUSINESS

Farmer’s Market – Mrs. Edwards informed the committee that the Farmer’s Market has been scheduled for 3:00pm to 6:30pm every Thursday between June 4th and October 1st in the parking lot at the intersection of Route 4 and 202. They are making available one table for local community non-profit groups and asked if the committee would like to sponsor the table for one week to give out information about the cable committee.  All agreed, Mrs. Edwards said she would get back to the committee with a date when a table is available.  Mr. Garnett said the Cordwood Garden Tour project can be shown at the farmers market since he is in the process of final edits.

Producer’s Packet – Mrs. Camille said she has talked with LRPA Coordinator Denise Beauchaine and she will be getting a producer’s packet to fill out for submitting programs to LRPA. 

The next scheduled meeting is at 6 pm. on Tuesday May 19th, 2009 at the Town Hall.
